A Subdued Purim Affects B’nei Menashe, Too

(February 28) Purim celebrations were subdued in Israel and India this year, mostly because of Covid-19 restrictions, and a bit, too, because the holiday fell on a Friday, when many people were busy making preparations for Shabbat. Without the usual parades and gatherings, there was less incentive to make and wear the elaborate costumes that are a large part of the holiday, and the B’nei Manashe reflected this trend, too. Still, many children did dress up, if more simply than in the past. Here are some of those who did:
